Description

Herpes Simplex Virus Type-1 (HSV-1) is an enveloped, dsDNA virus which is known owning anticancer cell ability. Human solute carrier family 5 member 5 (SLC5A5) is a member of the sodium glucose cotransporter family which is responsible for the uptake of iodine. In this virus, the nucleotide sequence of both human solute carrier family 5 member 5 (SLC5A5) and GFP were engineered into the HSV-1 genome. This virus can be used for in vitro cancer cell killing assays or in vivo animal cancer treatment tests.
