Description of C18 Low pH HPLC Column

Hawach Scientific C18-Low pH compatible C18 phases are designed for use at extremely low pH. Two very bulky hydrophobic protective groups prevent siloxane bonds from hydrolysis at low pH conditions and at high temperatures, making it the most stable C18 for low pH applications in the market. Because the KL phase is not end-capped and has more surface silanols, it retains early-eluting polar compounds better. C18-Low pH HPLC column is extremely stable in the very low pH mobile phase and also suitable for use in high-temperature conditions, even at the lowest pH of 0.5, making it the most stable C18 for low pH application in the market.

C18-Low pH column is designed for low pH conditions. It consists of two very large hydrophobic protective groups, which can prevent siloxane bonds from being hydrolyzed under low pH conditions.

Because C18-Low pH HPLC columns are not end-capped and have more surface silanols, it has more retention for some early eluted polar compounds and provides some different selectivity than the traditional C18 HPLC column. C18-Low pH is the most polar C18 among all the C18 products of Hawach Scientific.
